Being Alone With Yourself

Alone, in silence. Alone, in darkness. Alone, with the self.

There is perhaps nothing more beautiful—and nothing more terrifying—than being alone with ourselves.

When I work with clients, the first thing I focus on is helping them see that there is nothing to fear.

The fear is simply the unknown.

The illusion is the comfort of knowing.

The truth is that we don’t know what we will face.

And the quest is finding acceptance in that not knowing.

Fear is the mind’s way of hiding from the infinite possibilities it cannot fathom. It cloaks itself in unease, drawing us further from ourselves, tempting us with distractions—anything to escape the discomfort.

So ask yourself: What level of discomfort are you willing to sit in with yourself?

How long can you remain there before you shift from love into judgment, searching for an escape?

The greatest act of self-compassion is embracing the unknown with open arms, knowing that it is just you—and loving yourself no matter how dark it may seem.

In a plant medicine journey, you are with yourself in the most potent, raw way imaginable.

My role is to support you lovingly, reminding you of this truth: It is you—and you are utterly magnificent.

Together, we will uncover where fear resides. We will bring those hidden parts to the surface and, with compassionate curiosity, explore their origins, their needs, and how they can heal.

Through this process, you begin to see yourself differently. Not through fear, but through love. You start to feel the alignment of your Self Energy. You learn to recognize the signals—your emotions, thoughts, and nervous system—and understand that they are messengers.

The key is learning to listen.

To pay close attention to the signals within.

Then, it’s about perspective: Are you in those emotions and thoughts, or can you see them as trailheads—starting points, inviting you to explore their deeper meaning?

Often, it’s easier to ignore them. It takes time, energy, and courage to face what may stir within.

But this is why we call it a journey.

It is an exploration into the unknown, beyond the rules of the world we think we know.

A journey filled with both profound beauty and profound challenge.

One that will leave you stronger on the other side.

It’s a path you must walk alone, where no one else can do it for you.

And in that solitude, you will discover courage braided with surrender, running down your spine—holding you upright at times, leaving you cowering at others.

Here, everything is laid bare.

Nothing to hide.

Nowhere to hide.

This is what it means to be alone with yourself.

This is the journey.

This is the medicine.
