From Corporate to Cosmic

There is shame, there is rage, there is dissonance.

Everywhere. All the time.

It is incessant.

And there is peace, compassion, and curiosity.

It is the essence.

I have spent a lot of time in high functioning, integral teams in organizations.

And I have spent time in some of the most appalling toxic environments I couldn’t make up because I was perhaps too naive to think they existed until I was in them. Now this isn’t in a child labor factory, or a slave camp – those are a whole other level of disgust that should be scorched from the Earth.

I’m referring to the places that poison us from the inside out. The places that make us feel like we are the ones there is something wrong with for not accepting the dysfunctional conditions.

This sparks something deep within us that burns our eyes, clenches our stomachs and fists, and viscerally challenges our values.

What does it mean to change work? To change the system? To rally behind the idea of something bigger, better, and brighter?

What has to break before we can build?

Even companies espousing healing have problems managing their own balance of integrity.

It is the people. It is all of us.

WE have to heal before we can build anything better. And we are – I believe in record numbers and speed. I would even go so far as to say that we are living in a time where there are more people exploring their inner worlds and addressing unresolved trauma than ever before.

But we aren’t done, not by a long shot. We are only just beginning. The waves are getting bigger, and there are a lot of surfers gazing out at the horizon looking for the next set.

Surfing the waves of mystical self surrender takes time, patience, and above all else… courage.

Before we can fix the problems of society, we have to heal ourselves.

I have spent over a decade down the path of self surrender, and the integration of this deep healing work has been the longest, and most challenging aspect of my entire journey.

I stepped back into the corporate world with an opportunity that I wasn’t looking for. To be a part of something that is bigger than me - and I tried to insulate myself behind the scenes, probably the only person not seeking a spotlight in the whole crowd – yet here it is.

It might not be a big spotlight - but it sure is brighter than anything I’ve aspired to stand in.

So what do I do with that? The process of my own self discovery. The integration of healing deep wounds and finding self love and compassion. Building a bridge from Cosmic to Corporate so I can navigate the dance between worlds.

This is truly the work as I see it. Having an extraordinary experience is the invitation – using the wisdom to change the world is where the story really begins.

To wind down to stillness and still exist in this world. My only fear was that I will no longer care about anything once I have seen what lies beyond; but instead, I care more.
